The cats are a great source of ideas and inspirations, even though they often conspire against my painting anything at all.

 Tortes Running On A Beach.
Based on a painting, 'Women Running On A Beach' by Picasso. I did it as a cheerful painting over the Christmas week.
 James in California.
He isn't really, though.
Acrylic on board.

  Frankie.
So called because of his beautiful blue eyes.
Acrylic on board.

This is a line drawing scanned into the computer where colour was added. The cats are a pair of tortoiseshell sisters who leave no area unaccessed.

It's a long time since I've done a picture like this. The cat is Alfie and I've no doubt that he'd climb a volcano if there was one nearby.

My cat Ginger. This design, as a digital transfer has won two awards: a 'Golden Image' at the SGIA (Screen-printing and Graphic Imaging) convention in 2000 and an Honourable Mention in the American Magazine 'Impressions'. It is a line drawing scanned into the computer and colour added there, a bit of a change from paint brushes and paints.

White cat on a beach. Alfie was the model again for this painting.

Marley  Marley. A long, lean beautifully marked cat. We found him as a kitten running through the traffic on the main Cork road. We drove around, braked, ran up behind him and caught him. He prefers the country life now.
Went to Sea  Ginger again.
We answered an advertisement which wanted good homes for ginger kittens and he was the first one out of the sack.
Tilly  Tilly, aka Crazy Tilly. We found her one morning underneath our shed. She was a just a kitten and had been attacked by another animal. She took a long while to calm down and today takes herself off up into the hills for weeks at a time on rabbit-hunting trips.
The Frog and Sprockett  This painting is based on a true story. But we rescued the frog.
Cosimo  Cosimo. The original Irish Cat. He has his own web-site too. Click here if you'd like to have a look at it.
